This filter is primarily intended for allergy sufferers. It does not have an activated carbon filter.

Actually, the standard HEPA filter should be sufficient to remove odours (official English website also mentions the activated carbon filter). If that is not enough, the "Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Formaldehyde Filter" could be an option, as it is also designed to remove odours (according to the website/advertising text).
