I am actually very satisfied with the machine. Recently, however, I have had something to complain about. The portafilter plunger keeps slipping out of the holder during the brewing process - the portafilter plunger slowly loosens towards the left, although it actually locks firmly into place after the tampering process. The result is a dirty kitchen and smashed coffee utensils. Does anyone have the same problem? The coffee machine has already been sent in and came back with the same problem. Do I need to buy a new piston? Can this wear out over time? Help - i need Coffee
We have exactly the same problem. The piston comes loose when brewing. Our coffee machine was also sent in, but the problem was not solved. We bought the machine at Mediamarkt (1st generation/ bought in 2020) and are trying to return it.
It's really dangerous, or rather the fun stops when the coffee is hot on the skin! The plunger turns slowly to the left, but then it comes loose due to the high pressure and the coffee splashes around, the cups are broken...
I saw that the new model has a different piston and also a revised piston/appliance interface. I suspect this was a faulty design.

If it comes loose again on its own after engaging, I would recommend sending the unit in for inspection. This should not be the case.
