Suspension seat posts bring a piece of full-suspension comfort to bikes with a rigid rear end. While most other manufacturers of suspended posts rely on a telescopic principle, Cane Creek has taken a different approach with its Thudbuster post for many years. The distinctive parallelogram design of the Thudbuster post is also found in the lightweight Thudbuster ST version, which features a short 33 mm travel and is aimed more at sport-oriented riders. The advantages of this design are retained in the ST: a sensitive suspension that can be easily and flexibly adjusted to the rider's weight, providing nearly maintenance-free extra comfort and preventing any twisting or play at the saddle, as seen in some other telescopic spring posts. The spring element in the Cane Creek Thudbuster ST is a single elastomer located in the center of the parallelogram. This elastomer is available in various hardness levels and can be easily swapped out. The post comes with one elastomer each of hardness #3, #5, and #7 included. Cane Creek recommends the following elastomers based on rider weight: #1 for under 45 kg, #3 for 45-65 kg, #5 for 65-86 kg, and #7 for 86-114 kg.
