Product details

Made to make you better. This product follows the Grand Prix 4000 S II. With Continental's unique tread compound, produced exclusively in Germany, they have revolutionized the cycling scene. Thanks to the legendary BlackChili compound, Continental has sustainably answered the eternal question of grip versus rolling resistance. Regular test victories demonstrate the measurable and noticeable advantages for riders, both in the lab and on the road. The latest polymers, along with specially developed carbon black particles and fillers, ensure unique performance. Vectran is a high-tech fiber made synthetically, inspired by nature. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer. Vectran is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multifilament yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran possess enormous tear resistance at minimal weight. These are precisely the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible, and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers, without affecting rolling resistance.

The Schwalbe Pro One and the GP5000 perform very well in the comparison of 30-millimetre tyres. In the practical test, the very high cornering grip under all conditions speaks in favour of the "Conti". In the puncture protection test, the tyre impressed above all with its top values in the tread area.
