Polyurethane, also known as PUR or PU, is a special plastic with properties that are ideal for fitness equipment. This material achieves an optimal hardness level, making it very robust while also being highly elastic and gentle on other equipment and the floor. A PU coating has extremely high tear resistance and is highly insensitive and resistant to impacts, abrasion, scratches, or chipping. These weight plates are therefore as resilient as steel while being as soft as rubber.
