The Maxxis Rekon 2.60 is a very voluminous tire suitable for daily rides. It excels on forest trails and during all-mountain shredding, but it can also handle rougher terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for tubeless riding with sealant, but can also be used with a tube. Maxxis primarily recommends the Rekon for the rear wheel, where it pairs best with a 2.60 Forekaster in the front, although it also works well with coarser tread patterns.

The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape for modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and take on a too-angular shape on wide rims, which can impair performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm but perform excellently on all rims with an inner measurement between 30 and 39 mm.

This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tires. It is tightly woven, lightweight, and flexible, ensuring that the tire performance remains excellent. Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip, with the arrangement of the compounds planned according to the desired tire characteristics.
