The C220 handlebar clamp, which was first proven on the Ritchey Trail stem, creates a more secure interface by wrapping around the handlebar by a full 220°. The screw forces are aligned with the clamp, allowing the stem body to "hug" the handlebar, making it less prone to damage on lightweight handlebars. This clamp design allows for a lighter faceplate and a lighter stem body without sacrificing strength or stiffness. The stem body is made from forged 2014 aluminum for further weight reduction.
