The Shimano WU111 unit for wireless signal transmission is directly connected to the DI2 E-TUBE system, enabling the connection and use of ANT+ and Bluetooth LE compatible accessories. It also allows for maintenance and system updates via Shimano's E-Tube Project software for smartphones and tablets. Bluetooth is used for communication between the EW-WU111/101, the Di2 system, and smartphones or tablets. The new E-TUBE app for mobile devices enables the assignment of functions, switch assignments, multi and synchro-shift settings, as well as firmware updates for components.
