The new GRX wheel helps you ride on gravel trails that are faster, go further, and are more fun. Wider tires require wider rims to maintain their lateral stability at low air pressure. Shimano has studied the complex relationship between tire size, rim width, air pressure, and tire side stiffness to optimize the width of the GRX rim for tires with a cross-section of 32 to 50 mm. Additionally, we have sought the best balance between weight, strength, and rim profile to create an exceptional wheelset for gravel.

Shimano's GRX carbon wheels hardly showed any weaknesses during the test. They are among the most torsionally stiff wheels tested. In the wind tunnel results, they are in the upper midfield. The weight is fully within the green range.
