PSE soft starter. The starters of the PSE series are the world's first compact soft starters with torque control. This makes the PSE series an excellent choice for pump applications, where water hammer is typically a major issue. With its compact design and advanced features, the PSE is also an extremely efficient solution for other common applications such as compressors and fans. It has a wide rated operating voltage range of 208–600 V AC and a wide rated control voltage range of 100–250 V, 50/60 Hz. The rated operating current ranges from 18 to 370 A. The ambient temperature range is -25 to +60 °C. Coated circuit boards ensure reliable operation in harsh environments. An integrated bypass in all sizes saves energy and reduces installation time. The user-friendly MMS features an illuminated, language-neutral display and a four-button keypad. Torque control provides excellent pump management. Current limitation is adjustable in the range of 1.5–7 times the rated current. Motor overload protection is available with classes 10A, 10, 20, and 30. Motor underload protection detects dry running of pumps, while start rotor protection detects jammed pumps. The kick-start feature helps to start jammed pumps or conveyor belts. An advanced algorithm eliminates the DC component for excellent starting behavior.
