RCBOs combine residual current and circuit breakers in one device (RCD/MCB combination). They protect people from residual currents and installations from short circuits and overloads. The DRCBO 4 has a rated breaking capacity of 6 kA. In addition to a tripped indicator, it also features a labeling window. Type A switches are sensitive to pulsating and alternating currents. This function is independent of the mains voltage. Switches with tripping characteristic B are the standard protection for lighting and socket circuits. Standard switches are designed for circuits with a rated voltage of 230 V or 400 V and a rated frequency of 50 Hz.

Areas of application: Protection of circuits in residential and commercial buildings as well as industrial plants with TN-S, TT, and TN-C-S networks. In IT networks, RCD/MCB switches can be provided for disconnection in the event of a second earth fault. The use in installations with TN-C networks and for the protection of circuits where power electronics devices can cause smooth direct fault currents or fault currents with frequencies other than 50/60 Hz is excluded.
