Our chisels (also known as carving chisels) are handcrafted from a special tool steel. The forging process further enhances the material structure of the cherry wood chisels. The heat treatment in a salt bath achieves a hardness of ± HRc 61 across the entire usable length of the blade, which is significantly above the requirements of the German DIN standard. A self-developed polishing technique creates a scratch-free surface, allowing for a smooth cut and easier penetration into the wood.

Out of the box, our chisels are manufactured with a cutting angle of 25°. This angle is excellent for soft to medium-hard woods. However, before the chisels are used for the first time, they should be worked on with a sharpening stone to achieve a razor-sharp edge for initial use. To ensure many years of successful work with the chisel, we recommend cleaning the tool with a lightly oiled cloth after each use. The oil film applied in this way protects the chisel from moisture and thus from rust.
