The hollow chisel or hollow iron has a cross-section that is approximately semicircular. This tool is used for reaming round depressions. It is designed for cutting out concave indentations and is also suitable for straight and flat work. The hollow chisel is available with both outside and inside bevels. Our chisels are handcrafted from a special tool steel. The forging process further improves the material structure of the chisels. The heat treatment in a salt bath achieves a hardness of ± HRc 61 along the entire usable length of the blade, which is significantly above the requirements of the German DIN standard. Our chisels are finished with a self-developed polishing technique that creates a scratch-free surface, allowing for a smooth cut and easier penetration into the wood. Our chisels are manufactured with a cutting angle of 25° as standard. This angle is excellent for soft to medium-hard wood.
