The hollow chisel or hollow iron has a cross-section that is approximately semicircular. This tool is used for re-cutting round depressions. It is suitable for carving out concave indentations, but can also be used for straight and flat work. The hollow chisel is available with both outside and inside bevels. Our chisels are handcrafted from a special tool steel. The forging process further enhances the material structure of the chisels. The heat treatment in a salt bath achieves a hardness of ± HRc 61 along the entire usable length of the blade, which is significantly above the requirements of the German DIN standard. Our chisels are manufactured with a cutting angle of 25° as standard. This angle is excellent for soft to medium-hard wood.
