The DJR187 is Makita's first reciprocating saw equipped with a brushless motor. Brushless motors are compact and energy-efficient – they are about 30 percent smaller and lighter than conventional brushed motors. As the name suggests, the brushless motor does not have carbon brushes that generate heat and friction, making it a low-maintenance and durable alternative. Thanks to Makita's lithium-ion batteries and a brushless motor, the DJR187 operates for long periods without needing to change the battery. The machine offers two stroke rates (0 - 2,300 / 0 - 3,000), and the appropriate speed can be easily selected at the switch before starting work. A high stroke rate and a stroke length of 32 mm provide additional power for demolition work and spark-free cutting. Blade changes and adjustments can be made without tools. An LED light and a mounting hook are also included.
