The DJR187 is Makita's first reciprocating saw equipped with a brushless motor. Brushless motors are compact and energy-efficient – they are about 30 percent smaller and lighter than conventional brushed motors. As the name suggests, the brushless motor does not use carbon brushes that generate heat and friction – a feature that makes it a low-maintenance and durable alternative. Thanks to Makita's lithium-ion batteries and the brushless motor, the DJR187 operates for long periods without needing to change the battery. The machine offers two stroke rates (0 - 2,300 / 0 - 3,000), and the appropriate speed can be easily selected at the switch before starting work. A high stroke rate and a stroke length of 32 mm provide additional power for demolition work and spark-free cutting. Blade changes and adjustments can be made without tools. An LED light and a hook for attachment are also included.
