As a rule of thumb for better stability: Umbrella up to 2 m: approx. 20 kg, umbrella up to 3 m: approx. 40-50 kg, umbrella up to 4 m: approx. 80-100 kg, umbrella up to 5 m: approx. 125-150 kg. Calculations like 1 kg per 10 cm diameter are not accurate, as they do not take into account that the umbrella surface increases exponentially.
