Mersen aM and gG fuse inserts cover a wide range of different sizes and current ratings for 400, 500, and 690 VAC. They are used for the protection of electrical distribution circuits and industrial systems. A large number of current ratings are available in sizes 8x31 and 10x38 optionally with a signaling device, and in sizes 14x51 and 22x58 optionally with a striker pin for triggering an auxiliary contact. All cylindrical fuse inserts consist of a ceramic body and silver-plated contacts. Cylindrical fuse inserts of operating class aM are partial area fuses and protect electrical devices from destruction due to excessively high short circuits through their strong current limitation and low thermal withstand values. They interrupt currents greater than 6.3 x ln up to the maximum breaking capacity. Cylindrical fuse inserts aM are preferably used to protect equipment and switchgear in motor circuits. When selecting the fuse inserts, the rated fuse current can be chosen to be equal to the rated motor current. Our technology and manufacturing process ensure highly reliable technical performance.
