Matter functionality very limited - meross app and signup required
TLDR: Not recommended at all -> buy an Eve smart plug.
Contrary to the other review, I was able to pair this plug with Home Assistant through matter (with SkyConnect).
However: At the time of review, this plug does not support ANY energy monitoring over Matter. Matter is only supported for on/off functionality. This means that the two MAIN selling points of this device (Matter and energy monitoring) do not actually work together, you must pick one or the other. Furthermore, to access the "extra" features (that should be included with Matter), the Meross app is required, and you have to sign up via email.
None of this is the case for Eve smart plugs, so I would highly recommend purchasing those instead.Works objection-free with HomeKit Siri

I use Eve Energy and Meross, both have the same functionality in Home Assistant (see picture).
Meross is much cheaper than Eve and just as reliable.
The integration via HomeKit and then Matter did not work reliably for me, now I use the Meross LAN integration and everything works fine.Pro

Unfortunately only operable with app. No pairing with conbee possible. And therefore not suitable for Home Assistant. A bad buy for me...
