Version with cylindrical and tapered inner dimensions. Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls and a common concave spherical raceway in the outer ring. They are angularly movable and insensitive to angular misalignments of the shaft relative to the housing. This makes them particularly suitable for bearing applications where large shaft deviations or alignment errors are expected. Self-aligning ball bearings also exhibit the lowest friction of all rolling bearings, allowing them to operate more quietly and cooler even at higher speeds.
