Product details
The SPAX typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal hexagon. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus, allowing the T-STAR plus bits to fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transfer from the screwdriver to the screw through T-STAR plus enables quick work and is significantly more efficient than all other drives. While the countersunk screw is designed flat for flush sinking of the screws, the lens-shaped countersunk head features a convex curvature. Depending on the type of screw and surface finish (stainless steel, nickel-plated, antique), these screws serve as a decorative element, for example, in furniture construction or when attaching skirting boards. The partially threaded screws are excellent for fastening thin components like chipboard panels, boards, or floorboards to thicker components such as beams or timbers. The short thread screws into the thick component, while the unthreaded shank remains in the attachment component. This creates maximum clamping pressure between the two. The unthreaded part should be at least as thick as the attachment component. The CUT tip of our SPAX screws allows for extremely fast and effective screwing of our wood screws without pre-drilling. The arrow-shaped CUT tip, in combination with the shaft profile, reduces splitting and tearing of the wood. Furthermore, the CUT tip enables very precise and slip-resistant positioning of the screw tip even on smooth surfaces. The abbreviation A2 for our stainless steel screws comes from the steel alloy. Screws made of stainless steel A2 offer high protection against corrosion and medium strengths. Their resistance to seawater and acids is low. Therefore, they are used for outdoor applications in areas far from the coast.
