Tire Inspection: Before changing tires, always check for any damage or cracks in the tires. The tread depth should also be checked. Legally, a minimum tread depth of 1.6 mm is required across the entire circumference. However, a depth of 3 mm to 4 mm is recommended. This is especially important in winter for optimal grip.

Direction of Rotation Check: There are directional tires, which have a marking on the sidewall indicating the rolling direction. These must be mounted accordingly. Additionally, note that tires on the drive axle wear out more quickly. It is therefore recommended to mount the better tires on the drive axle, as uneven tread depths can compromise driving stability.
