Product details
In the present studies on the pH analysis of the adsorption of methylene blue dye from the production of activated carbon using aqueous solutions of various banana species, the banana stem was investigated. No attempt has been made in the past to study a total of three banana stem species simultaneously, and this also applies when using banana stems. The adsorbent was produced using a simple chemical activation method with KOH, and the adsorption of the methylene blue dye was examined in a batch adsorption experiment. The effects of various parameters such as moisture content analysis, dosage effect, pH effect, as well as preliminary organoleptic tests, biological significance, microscopic studies, macroscopic studies, powder analysis, SEM, and EDX analysis of the three types of banana stems are also reported. In the batch adsorption experiment, it was found that the maximum moisture content was observed in Poovan bananas (6.55%) and a minimum in Grand Nain (4.43%). The maximum dosage effect was observed at 20 ppm (Elakki bananas, Grand Nain, and Poovan bananas).
