When using loading ramps, it is also important to note that certain safe inclines are recommended. According to DGUV 108-006, the incline of the loading ramp should not exceed 30%. This maximum value can be applied if the person pushing the vehicle is strong enough. For less strong individuals, the incline of the ramp should be reduced accordingly. The method of use may also require a less steep ramp. The required length can be determined using the following formula: Length of ramp = height to be overcome ÷ incline. Calculation example: A height of 100 cm is to be overcome by a strong person. The calculation is: Length of ramp = 100 cm ÷ 0.30 ≅ 330 cm.
