Please do this regularly to fill the pores in the pot and develop a patina that protects against rust.

Cleaning: For cleaning, use only hot water and scrub off any larger food residues with a brush. Do not use soap or cleaning agents, and re-grease the pot after each cleaning. Do not store food residues or ash in the Dutch Oven, as these can cause rust when combined with moisture.
