This cast iron Dutch oven with matching lid is THE cooking utensil for outdoor cooking. Whether on a permanent fireplace, campfire or barbecue area, with the 8-litre cooking pot you can expand your outdoor food preparation beyond the normal barbecue. The Dutch Oven has a trivet to ensure it stands securely, even on uneven surfaces.

Cooking with the Dutch Oven is very versatile: from tender meat and flavourful vegetable pans to bread or juicy cakes. It can be heated with coal, briquettes or wood. Thanks to the solid cast iron mould, the heat is well distributed and the food is cooked evenly. Due to the heat conduction, the lid also absorbs the heat and cannot be touched with the bare hand, but only with the practical lid lifter supplied. The lid also has a raised edge for placing additional embers or charcoal on top. To store the Dutch Oven, grease it, place a sheet of kitchen paper inside and do not close the lid completely.

Burning in: For the first seasoning, clean the pot and lid with hot water and rub the Dutch Oven with a flavourless vegetable fat. Now place the pot upside down in the oven at 180 °C for one hour, then rub in the remaining fat evenly. Please do this regularly so that the pores in the pot are filled and a patina forms that protects against rust.

Cleaning: Only use hot water for cleaning and scrub off coarse food residues with a brush. Do not use soap or detergents and re-grease the pot after each cleaning. You should not store any leftover food or ash in the Dutch Oven, as this can cause rust when combined with moisture.
