4. Plant in a Box Areca, Asplenium, Clusia, Philodendron, Spathiphyllum - 5 Mix Air Purifying Plants

This mix of green houseplants not only creates a wonderful atmosphere and provides plenty of oxygen, but what makes them special is their air-purifying effect. These natural air fresheners are perfect for the office, but they are also pleasant in living or bedrooms. The plants absorb pollutants from the air through their leaves, which are then stored and broken down within the plant or its roots. Additionally, air-purifying houseplants convert CO2 into oxygen during the day and release water vapor into the air, improving humidity levels. This air-purifying plant mix includes five different houseplants:

Philodendron Atom
The Philodendron Atom is a lovely plant with a compact growth form. It has thick, lobed leaves that make the plant very decorative and unique. The Atom is a smaller, compact-growing species that does not grow very quickly. It prefers a brighter location without direct sunlight.

Clusia Rosea 'Princess'
The Clusia Rosea 'Princess' is a robust houseplant with glossy leaves. It grows in various substrates ranging from swamps to tropical forests and lava landscapes.

Asplenium Crispy Wave
The Asplenium Crispy Wave is a strong fern that thrives particularly well indoors. Originally, the Crispy Wave comes from the forests of Japan and Taiwan, where it grows on tree branches and rocks.

Areca Lutescens
The Areca palm, also known as the butterfly palm, is one of the best palms to have indoors. It filters many toxic substances from the air and looks beautiful as well.

Spathiphyllum
The Spathiphyllum, also known as the peace lily, has white flowers that resemble lilies. It is a beautiful plant that originates from Colombia and Venezuela.

5. Plant in a Box Howea forsteriana - Kentia Palme

This beautiful Kentia palm, also known as Howea Forsteriana, is sure to bring a touch of exoticism to your office or living room. The palm originally comes from Australia but is very popular as a houseplant in our regions. This Forsteriana species is also the only Kentia cultivated in our areas. It belongs to the palm family and is one of the oldest houseplants. It is also a relatively slow-growing and robust palm, making it quite easy to care for.

Care: The Kentia is ideal for people without a green thumb, as the plant requires little water. From February to September, weekly watering is sufficient. For the rest of the year, it should be watered once a month. Additionally, the ideal room temperature for the Kentia is between 15 °C and 25 °C. The plant needs a lot of light but does not like direct sunlight, as it can burn its leaves. It prefers a shady or semi-shady location, so it is best placed near a north-facing window. If the leaves turn lighter or yellow, it may mean that it is getting too much sunlight. In that case, move the Kentia to a shadier spot.

Size: The plant has a height of 90-100 cm upon delivery, measured including the growing pot. It is delivered in a growing pot with a diameter of 18 cm, along with 10 liters of Pokon potting soil.

6. Plant in a Box Calathea Lietzei 'White Fusion' - Basket Maranthe

The Calathea Fusion White is not only a beautiful plant but also a rare one. It is not often that we see a Calathea with white variegation. The Calathea Fusion White is sure to steal the show in any indoor setting with its stunning leaves.

The Calathea originally comes from the South American jungle, where it grows in the shade of larger plants and trees. This makes it suitable for a darker spot in the house. The Calathea is also known as the "living plant" because it closes its leaves in the evening and opens them again in the morning. If you are very quiet, you can even hear the rustling.

Care:
The Calathea loves to be in the shade, and it is important that the plant does not receive too much light. If the plant gets too much light, the variegation can fade. Due to its tropical origin, the Calathea requires high humidity.

You can give the plant lukewarm water 2 to 3 times a week, as the soil should always remain slightly moist. In winter, you can reduce this to once a week. To prevent the roots from rotting, it is important to ensure that there is no standing water at the bottom of the pot. Check the soil before watering the plant.

7. Plant in a Box Citrus Mitis Calamondin - Orange tree

The Mini Orange Citrus Calamondin is a beautiful ornamental tree that resembles a mandarin and features wonderfully fragrant white blossoms that are abundant in spring. This Citrus Calamondin is a hybrid between the mandarin and the Citrus Kumquat. This citrus tree produces small, round, orange fruits with a diameter of about 4 cm. In Latin countries, the fruits of this symmetrical, compact plant are known as 'agri-dulce' (sweet-sour), as the small, juicy Calamondin oranges initially taste bitter before leaving a deliciously sweet flavor in the mouth. The Calamondin can be eaten as a fruit but is more commonly used for various dishes and liqueurs. This wonderfully fragrant plant also makes an excellent houseplant.

Care: Citrus trees prefer a bright, sunny location, moderate watering, and regular fertilization. The fruits can take up to a year to ripen, but the wait is worth it. Regarding location, the plants should be placed in full sun from mid-March to October, gradually acclimating to the sun in the first few weeks to prevent leaf burn. Since the Calamondin is not frost-resistant, it must be kept indoors during winter. Reduce watering in winter, but do not let the plant dry out completely. Too much or too little water can cause the fruits to drop.

The Hawaiian Plumeria is a tropical plant that can produce flowers with a strong and delightful fragrance. The Plumeria is also known as Frangipani, named after a 16th-century marquis called Franchipani. He was the Italian inventor of perfume who used the scent of the Plumeria. Since its invention, the fragrance of the plant is still frequently used in the perfume industry. The original Plumeria can be found in all tropical regions worldwide. For example, women in Hawaii wear the flower behind their ears, on the right ear when they are looking for a man, and on the left ear when they are "taken."

10. Plant in a Box Alocasia macrorrhizos - Giant Ear

Alocasia 'Macrorrhiza', also known as Elephant Ear, originates from the tropical regions of Asia. This giant, trendy houseplant can be found in almost every urban jungle. With this Alocasia, you will have a tropical houseplant with particularly large leaves. The leaves of this plant can reach a width of 60 centimeters. A new leaf is currently emerging from the center of the plant. After that, it unfolds and droops downwards. This causes the height and width of the plant to constantly vary. Keep in mind that Alocasia needs plenty of space and place the houseplant in an area where it can grow both upwards and outwards.

Care
Alocasia prefers a sunny spot. It is advisable to rotate the houseplant a quarter turn from time to time so that it does not grow in just one direction. Additionally, Alocasia prefers moist soil. Make sure that the potting soil is always slightly damp. It is important that the roots do not sit in water. It is better to give the Alocasia a little water every day than to provide a large amount all at once.
