The battery supplied, or the charger, I don't know which, are of very, very poor quality. After the first charge, the battery only lasted 2 minutes before the car jerked and stopped.

After some research, I found this battery:

It fits perfectly into the space available but requires changing the plug on the car side. I cut the plug of the battery supplied with the car to make an adaptor for the new batteries. (I personally used an intermediate Tamya connector, but that's because I'm using the adaptor for another scale model). Autonomy is now around 30 minutes, and with more power.
My son has been playing with it every day for 3 weeks now (he's having lots of fun). It's starting to show signs of wear and tear. The bodywork, front bumper and two front rims (cracked -> pk?) will need changing soon.
I initially chose this model because spare parts were available. However, the 4 parts mentioned above cost a whopping 43 euros, bearing in mind that the car is worth ~75 euros, which doesn't really encourage me to repair... I'm almost hesitant to buy a complete second car to use as a spare. Long live consumerism...
