In 1948, the 2CV was presented to the public for the first time. Citroën offered a robust mass vehicle for the people with this puristic, affordable small car that was easy to maintain and simple to operate, featuring an exceptionally good suspension suitable for the sparsely developed road network. Starting in 1981, when the 2CV had already become a cult object, a two-tone version was produced in series, the wine red-black 2CV 6 Charleston, which was followed by a yellow-black version in September 1982. Both were equipped with an air-cooled 0.6-liter two-cylinder boxer engine producing 29 horsepower.
