Product details

CAT6A U/FTP Slimline data center Ethernet cables have a smaller diameter (3.8 mm compared to 5.9 mm) than conventional CAT 6A patch cables. The bending radius is lower compared to regular patch cables, which leads to better air circulation in the rack.

Although the ISO/IEC and TIA standards describe the use of patch cables between 22 and 26 AWG, it is possible to use 32 AWG patch cables. This results in higher attenuation, especially at higher frequencies. Therefore, ACT recommends a shorter permanent connection cable than with regular 24 AWG patch cables to account for this higher attenuation.

ACT advises a maximum bundle size of 24 cables in PoE applications. In this case, the temperature of the cables supplying PoE installations will not increase. The ANSI TSB-184-A standard limits the maximum temperature rise to less than 15 degrees Celsius above ambient temperature for the average cable in a bundle.
