Product details
The versatile AKG C214 condenser microphone is ideal for professional studio and live sound applications. Its excellent acoustics are based on the large-diaphragm system of the C414.
As an affordable alternative to the legendary reference microphone, the C214 features its world-renowned dual-diaphragm capsule. The cardioid polar pattern is the result of the capsule design with one diaphragm. The switchable 20 dB pre-attenuation and the low-cut filter allow for miking loud instruments such as drums, guitar amplifiers or wind instruments. When used in pairs, the C214 is ideal for choir and classical recordings in stereo arrangement. The ultra-low noise electronics provide high dynamic range (143 dB) with maximum sound pressure peaks up to 156 dB SPL and low noise.
The integrated elastic capsule bearing protects against impact sound. A double shielding grid of the entrance basket guarantees an optimal shielding against electromagnetic interference and mechanical effects without affecting the sound. The C214 is extremely robust and masters the toughest demands of everyday studio and stage use with ease. The scratch-resistant surface also makes it look good for a long time.
With this condenser microphone you can achieve a particularly precise reproduction of sound for neutral, lifelike recordings. It picks up even the smallest sound pressure levels, which results in excellent sensitivity, especially in the high frequency range.
This microphone has a cardioid directional characteristic. This means it picks up sound best directly from the front. Sound coming from behind or from the sides is registered only minimally. In addition, this directional characteristic reduces annoying feedback.
