The Green Technology enables energy savings through features such as connection status detection, LED shutdown, port shutdown, system sleep mode, and time-based PoE (available only on DGS-1210-10P/28P/52P/52MP). Security features like the access control list secure the network, while the D-Link Safeguard Engine protects the CPU from broadcast, multicast, and unicast flooding. Port security supports 64 MAC addresses per port and offers ARP spoofing protection.

Intuitive management is facilitated through the D-Link Network Assistant utility or the web-based GUI. An integrated SNMP-MIB for remote NMS (D-View 6.0) as well as a compact CLI via Telnet are also available.
