The DIGITUS fiber splice box with 12 LC connections is designed for professional network infrastructure installations. This OS2 single-mode duplex unit features a 1U 19-inch (48.3 cm) rack-mountable design with dimensions of 483 mm width, 280 mm depth, and 44.5 mm height. The housing, made from 1 mm thick steel sheet with a gray (RAL 7035) powder coating, provides durable protection for fiber splices. The unit comes pre-configured from the factory with installed splice cassettes and corresponding front panel connections, making it ready for immediate use in network cabinets. Fiber splice boxes are extensively used in network cabinets to bundle incoming fiber optic cables and function similarly to patch panels for copper installation cables. In the network cabinet, the fiber optic signal can be connected via patch cables to switches, media converters, routers, modems, servers, SFP modules, or FTTH/FTTB home entries. The integrated fiber pigtails feature color coding according to DIN IEC 60304 and are correctly positioned in the splice cassettes. This configuration supports efficient cable management and organization while maintaining signal integrity in single-mode fiber networks.
