Product details
The mechanical gaming keyboard Ducky One 3 is designed to provide an excellent typing experience. Crafted with high-quality materials and optimized for quick response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious feel while typing. Additionally, the switches are mounted on sockets rather than being soldered, allowing for easy and solder-free replacement. The variant of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in the 80% TKL form factor. By omitting the numeric keypad, it takes up less space on the desk, although it is less suitable for office applications.
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its design philosophy QUACK Mechanics. Ducky considers four essential aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keycaps, the housing, the sound, and the stabilizers. Therefore, all variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality PBT keycaps. This semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular among keyboard modders due to its resistance to wear. Ducky molds the keycaps from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key labeling remains highly legible. The keycaps do not develop the typical shine that other plastics exhibit from extensive use.
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, combined with the three-stage feet, alleviates wrist strain. To enhance the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber composites and selected the suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
