Product details

The SR630 server supports up to seven hot-swap system fans, providing N+1 cooling redundancy. SR630 server models with a single processor include five system fans, while server models with dual processors feature seven system fans. The fans are dual-rotor counter-rotating units, meaning they have two separate propellers, one in front of the other, and the propellers rotate in opposite directions.

In the event of a system fan failure, performance may be affected if one of the following processors is installed:

  • 2nd Gen processors with 200W or 205W TDP, or Xeon 6240Y, 6244, 6246, or 6252N processors
  • 1st Gen processors Xeon 6144, 6146, 6154, 8168, 8180, and 8180M

Installing a second processor requires the installation of an additional cooling fan. For CTO orders, the fans are derived from the configurator. In field upgrades, the part numbers for the 1st Gen processor options include this fan; however, the 2nd Gen processor options do not include a fan, and this must be ordered separately with the SR630 fan option kit.
