Wirewin S/FTP patch cables are characterized by their high quality and are suitable for Gigabit or 10-Gigabit connections with up to 500 MHz operating frequency. Application areas for category 6A cables are voice, multimedia and data transmission as well as ATM networks.The strands of 100% copper are double shielded. A stranded wire is a conductor consisting of very many thin individual wires and is therefore easy to bend. The advantage is also the high tensile strength. The cable also has a kink protection. In contrast to conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing fire gases is thus excluded. Another advantage is that the exposure to toxic gases (e.g. hydrogen chloride gas in the case of PVC) is reduced to a minimum. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and there is no dangerous ignition cord effect. The transmission parameters are relatively constant and better than UTP cables even at high frequencies.Category 6 augmented (Cat 6A) is a standard resulting from the increased bandwidth requirements of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-T). Cat 6A cables are designed for transmission frequencies up to 500 MHz and distances up to 100 m, as well as being backward compatible with existing categories.
