Cat6 cables are designed for operating frequencies of up to 250 MHz. They are used for signal transmission at high data rates (1 Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, careful installation and assembly are particularly important, especially at the connection points of the wires. The individual wire pairs in Cat6 cables are twisted at different tightness, which further reduces susceptibility to interference compared to Cat5e. Applications for Cat6 cables include voice and data transmission, as well as multimedia and ATM networks. Even more powerful are cables according to Cat6e (500 MHz) and Cat6a (625 MHz). Slim patch cables offer a significant advantage when wiring racks and 48-port switches. Their extremely thin design and great flexibility help avoid cable clutter and maintain organization.
