Functionality DataWatch is a client/server application for networks and local workstations. The server module of DataWatch communicates with the ONLINE UPS via an RS232 cable. It collects and interprets the messages sent by the ONLINE UPS as a background program and makes them available to the client module. Data transmission from the server module to the client module can occur via TCP/IP, IPX, Named Pipes, or SNMP. If the server module detects voltage fluctuations or a power outage, it can execute so-called system event routines, such as shutting down the server. These system event routines can be flexibly adapted to specific needs. The client module allows for remote control and monitoring of the ONLINE UPS and the power supply network. For example, it can be used to conduct various UPS and battery tests or to monitor the quality of the power supply network. Additionally, event logs can be viewed and analyzed. RCCMD (Remote Console Command) is an additional module designed to execute a command on a remote system. RCCMD is used to shut down multiple servers powered by a single ONLINE UPS simultaneously.
