Good to know that the resolution is ONLY 640x480. SD is 720x576, so more of the already low SD resolution is unnecessarily lost, making it unsuitable. Is there a similar device that can do full SD resolution? + PAL, NTSC, and PAL60?

Hi there! I had the same problem and had to plug in an old computer with a USB 2.0 port. It never worked on a USB 3.0 port. Best regards

I ordered the Elgato Video Capture and have just received it. The adapter has a USB 2.0/3.0 plug, but the product description here at Digitec says that the plug should be USB Type-C. The Elgato is suitable for VHS tapes (i.e. converting analogue signal to digital). Video8 is probably similar... whether the control signals (such as 'line rewind' etc.) are correctly recognised by the Elgato would have to be tested...
