This only works if the notebook can also output a video signal via USB-C. And no, this does not work with the iiyama G-Master GB3466WQSU-B1. This screen does not have a USB-C input. So I wouldn't even unpack it and return it immediately. Personally, I would have gone for a 4K screen with 3840x2160 pixels right away, because that would give you a higher resolution. These 34 inch screens are okay if you need high refresh rates for games, but for normal work, a 3840x2160 pixel resolution in 32 inch would be better, because these screens would be narrower than 34 inch and offer more resolution. This Samsung monitor offers video input via USB-C and can also charge a notebook, it also has a LAN port: Samsung LF32TU870VRXEN (3840 x 2160 Pixels, 32")

You should ensure that the monitor is running at its native resolution of 3440x1440. You should also make sure that the monitor is supplied with output format RGB or ycbcr444. With ycbcr422 or ycbcr420, this could be typical compression artefacts, which are especially visible with fonts. What kind of graphics card do you have the monitor connected to? Via Displayport or HDMI?
