Yes, you can use the SSD in the Ugreen NAS as the device supports M.2 NVMe 2280 SSDs. It is recommended to use SSDs from well-known brands and make sure that no thick stickers or heat sinks are attached. Please note that PCIe 4.0 SSDs will work but are not recommended due to higher temperatures and power consumption, especially with intensive use. The SSD must be at least 32 GB in size, which is not a problem with your model.

Western Digital's M.2 NVMe SSD is compatible with macOS, including "Sequoia" 15.4.1, without the need for additional drivers such as nvmefix.kext. However, to use this SSD in an NVMe enclosure, make sure the enclosure is compatible with NVMe SSDs and has an appropriate M.2 slot. It's also a good idea to add a heatsink if you're using the SSD in an environment where heat could be a problem.

The WD 2TB is an absolute nobrainer at the current price. Plug'n play. Whether the extra >50€ for a little more performance is absolutely necessary for the Samsung 990 pro remains to be seen.

The 60°C in idle is completely unproblematic, under load the SN770 can also get 80-90°C warm. The cause of the Firefox crashes and freezes is probably another component in your system. Nevertheless, you can update the firmware if possible, the easiest way to do this is to use Western Digital Dashboard. If freezes continue to occur, you need to take a closer look at your CPU, mainboard and RAM configuration (especially XMP and EXPO).

I don't have a Thinkpad myself. From what I found quickly, it should be possible. Tech specs: https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkPad/ThinkPad_T470s/ThinkPad_T470s_Spec.PDF M2 interface is only a PCIe 3.0 x 4, so the full speed of the SSD will not be used, but since the M2 is backwards compatible, I don't see a technical problem. If the unit is still under warranty, the HD swap may void the warranty. Tech manual for this model: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/t470s_hmm_en.pdf

In fact, I didn't realise it myself when I bought the 2TB one... in any case, there was the same problem with the 1TB model, here's the link: https://www.digitec.ch/it/s1/questionandanswer/puoi-inserire-il-periodo-di-garanzia-corretto-di-5-anni-per-i-modelli-sn770-504394?productTypeId=545&referrerProductId=18756198

The error could have various causes, from a driver problem to a hardware incompatibility. Please also note that some notebooks cannot support a 2 TB SSD. Here, for example, https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Legion/Legion_5_15ARH7H?M=82RD0054MZ you will find the specifications for a new Lenovo model. One M2 slot can support a maximum of 1 TB and the other only 512 GB. You can find the exact specifications for your model at https://psref.lenovo.com/, after specifying the manufacturer number. There can of course be very specific incompatibilities, so it might be best to check with Lenovo support for more details.
