    A must for anyone who can freely choose their router

    Attention, the DE Box can only be used behind a (DSL/cable) modem, a bridge (Cablecom router in bridge mode) or an ISDN DSL connection! The DE version has the advantage that it is better/faster supplied with updated firmware and beta ("lab") versions are available in advance.

    I transferred the settings from my 7490 (also DE version) and that went without a hitch. Data such as SIP configuration, DECT settings, VPN, WLAN (except guest WLAN portal configuration) worked straight away in the new box, the exchange took less than 30min (incl. unboxing). Compared to the 7490, the user interface has become much faster.

    WLAN reception is better than with the 7490 under the same conditions.

    My still good 7490 now goes into the cupboard as an emergency reserve. Too much now depends on having a usable internet connection ;-)

    • with 940MBit/s NAT performance at the theoretical maximum of TCP/IP at 1GBit/s also for fibre optics

    • SIP (VoIP), analogue and ISDN connections, internal and external
    • 5GHz with DFS (radar detection) and Multi-MIMO, as well as 2.4GHz WLAN
    • additional own DynDNS solution "myfritz.net
    • 4xLAN, 1xWAN, DSL in, ISDN in, Analogue in, ISDN S0 out, 2xAnalogue out

    • single point of failure, many important functions in only one device

    Definite buy recommendation (Attention DE version for use behind (cable) modem, CH version for direct DSL connection)

    Good AVM product, I am very satisfied.

    • DE models receive timely firmware updates but are not usable with CH DSL connections.

    Tried and tested and good

    What to say. AVM Fritz!Box. The egg-laying willy-willy.
    Telephone with answering machine and forwarding, NAS, media server, smarthome centre, modem, router, WLAN, MESH, etc. Everything in it.

    Other manufacturers look like     porcupines from outer space, antennas wherever possible and an alien look, AVM remains true to itself and delivers one thing: quality. Where others wait with security patches until it's in the press, AVM is already up to date. And for years. Others no longer patch their systems after just one year.
    And AVM improves the same Fritz!Box every year.
    Better to pay more and be happy about a good, functioning system.
