The Rittal AE series features compact stainless steel enclosures with PU sealing foamed all around, providing protection class IP66 according to IEC 60529. The enclosure and flap are made of stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304), with a door opening angle of approximately 130°. The housing cover is available separately.

- 457-1067 for size (WxD) 300 x 210 mm
- 457-1073 for size (WxD) 500 x 210 mm
- 457-1023 for size (WxD) 200 x 155 mm
- 457-1045 for size (WxD) 380 x 210 mm
Black plastic handles are sold separately:
- 457-1095 is a handle with lock cylinder insert, lock No. 3524 E (not compatible with order number 784-6171)
- 860-4506 is a handle with housing without lock cylinder insert
- 860-4524 is a handle with housing and lock cylinder insert, lock No. 3524 E.
