ROLINE LWL patch cables in OM5 quality feature connectors that exhibit particularly low insertion loss, making them ideal for high-performance fiber optic cabling. These OM5 fiber optic cables offer excellent quality with very high bandwidths of up to 100 Gbit/s for Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and OIF applications up to 150 meters. They enhance the system cost advantages for extremely long backbones and medium-length campus backbones.

The material and sheath are of ROLINE quality. These are duplex cables with a fiber type of multimode 50/125 μm OM5. The cables are equipped with "Low-Loss" connectors that achieve particularly good values for insertion loss and reflection. For comparison, the typical loss of a standard LC connector is 0.5 dB, while the typical loss of a Low-Loss LC connector is only 0.15 dB.

The connectors are UPC polished. The outer diameter is 2.0 mm, and the bandwidth is 4700 MHz-km, based on an application-specific implementation of the EMBC requirements. The sheath color is green.
