Cat5e patch cable, RS Pro. This 4-pair twisted-pair data cable features Cat. 5e strands for use in data networks and structured cable systems with speeds of up to 100 Mbps. It meets or exceeds all Cat5e standards and is constructed with 26 AWG bare copper conductors, coupled with a colour code for easy identification and polyolefin insulation.

This RS Pro Cat5e cable can be used for computer networks such as Power Over Ethernet (POE). Cat5 and Cat5e cables are virtually identical and cannot be distinguished by thickness, colour, or material. However, Cat5e cables often have a more durable protective jacket, making them suitable for longer use compared to Cat5 cables. The wiring inside Cat5e cables is typically more tightly twisted, which enhances resistance to crosstalk.

Cat5e cables support networks running up to 1 gigabit per second, making them ideal for IT applications where fast data transfer is essential. They also have a higher bandwidth of 350 MHz, allowing them to carry significantly more information than Cat5 cables.
