The Visual Fault Locator (VFL, red light source) is an essential tool for the quick and easy localization of faults in fiber optic cables. By displaying the exact position of the damage, technicians can efficiently identify and resolve the issue. For rapid testing of fiber optic cables, it emits a visible (650 nm) strong (1 mW) laser signal through the cable. Breakpoints are made visible by a recognizable light glow at the location of the fault. The universal connector can be used with common connector types (ST, SC, FC, etc.) and is also compatible with LC connectors when used with an optional adapter. It can switch between continuous and pulsing beam modes and produces a visible light beam over distances of up to 7 km (single mode) or 5 km (multimode) of fiber optic cable. Its compact dimensions are (LxWxH): 114x35x20 mm, and it weighs only 46 g (with batteries). Required batteries: 2 x Micro (AAA) 1.5 V.
