Robust, shielded twisted pair cable (STP) with connector protection. Optimal for use in racks and for VoIP applications. 4-pair twisted. AWG36. With a durable nylon jacket. A Wirewin Cat6 Slim Tough cable features a flexible and wide connector protection as well as a robust nylon jacket. They are the ideal solution for connecting IP phones to your network. The nylon jacket makes it very easy to untangle the cables, making them suitable for mobile applications, such as connecting a laptop or as a travel companion. AWG36. The AWG (American Wire Gauge) system is based on the manufacturing process of wires and indicates the conductor thickness of the copper wire. AWG36 corresponds to a conductor cross-section of 0.0127 mm². UTP - Unscreened/Unshielded Twisted Pair cable. UTP cables consist of a plastic jacket that contains the unshielded, twisted pairs of wires. Due to the lack of shielding, UTP cables have a small outer diameter and are easy to handle and install. They are the most widely used cables for Ethernet LANs worldwide. Category 6/6a/6e. Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are often used in professional settings. At longer lengths, transmission speed may suffer, but short overlengths are generally acceptable depending on external influences. Application areas for Cat 6 include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
