1. can the part on the upper floor of the house simply be connected with a network socket? 2. does the AP go into standby mode at night or when not in use? That's where all the bedrooms are.

Yes, if the POE adapter is connected at the bottom of the counterpart. 2.
2. yes. time-controlled yes, via the configuration portal, but not when not in use, as far as I know.

1. yes, as long as they are on the same network and it is a PoE (Power over Ethernet) cable.
2. yes, but you have to configure a schedule.
