I wouldn't do that - the battery in the UPS is a lead-acid battery and could leak!

I would always buy a rackmounted UPS in a rack. You can find several at Digitec. However, they are all a bit more expensive. CHF500 and up

There is nothing about it in the manual. The unit has ventilation slots at the bottom and top, works without a fan and is obviously designed for vertical operation. Lying down, the heat dissipation is certainly worse. Since there are no statements about this, I would be very careful with horizontal operation...
