Do I just need the microphone and arm and then connect it to the PC? Or do I need something like a "mixer" or something similar?

Helpful answer
You still need an audio interface to make the signal digital.

The microphone has an XLR and no USB connection. You will need an audio interface for your project (e.g. Focusrite Scarlet, Audient iD series). Here, the microphone is plugged in via XLR and then the audio interface is connected to the PC/notebook via USB. As the SM7B is "quite quiet" in terms of signal, please find out whether you need some kind of booster (e.g. FetHead, Cloudlifter) to amplify the signal for your preferred audio interface. I use the SM7B with an Audient iD4 MKII without a "booster" - works perfectly.

I have had good experiences with the one from Motu (M2 or M4), but there are also many other brands and models.
