Does this modem have a mechanical on-off switch? Or is it already switched on by plugging in the power supply? Would be important for me so that it goes online again independently after a power failure and you don't have to switch it on by pressing a soft key.

Yes, exactly - once the router is running, it switches itself on.

Yes, it has a mechanical button. But it is more of a reset switch, because the unit always switches on after a power interruption.
